The Candle

A short poem about the dream of love coming true, and staying long enough for it to be celebrated !

I waited, waited for you to come to me
I counted, counted on you to set me free
Make me paint, paint an image of you in my mind
Where I hold, hold you tight like you were mine

And now you are mine, mine alone
That image, that dream, isn't a dream anymore
That candle of love we lit together, pray
Is still burning, and burn forever it may !

A nicely penned down poem that talks about the eternity of love... The theme may be cliche but the simplicity in this piece makes it brilliant and it succeeds to leave an effect... Good one :)
