To a Beloved Lost Soul

To a Beloved Lost Soul

A Poem by Augustus

The Muses and the tortured Souls beseech
Thy heart which in some nameless realm now lies
She seeks thee after thine Resolve's demise
For there is much to Learn and more to Teach

Just for some dazzling star is out of reach
In woe why must thou scorn the fireflies?
Awaken now and heed the anguished cries
Lest darkness does thy Mind's strong fortress breach

Come back! A lantern waits to guide thy way
Come back! The Spring delays her lively dance
Destroy the cynic and his Icy Cage

The skies are murky and the world is Grey
But wilt thou not give Life a second chance?
Time waits for thee to write a brand New Page

There is such a wondrous mix of light and darkness... life and death... falling and rising... Your words give hope and inspire to reach.. to move on.. even in the deepest sense of loss... (For years I was in depression and needed to know there might be a second chance for me.) This is a beautiful portrait of a new day.
