Elements of Life

Drops of evening summer sunlight

Set me free from fear and sorrow

Gusts of blistering cold wind

Reminding me to keep trudging through the snow

Shared laughter with friends

Making me appreciate the value of true friendship

Tears spilling down my face in sobs

Letting me feel the sadness of life

Vibrant colors sprawling out onto paper

Letting my imagination run away from me

The stories I read of people doing brave feats

Makes me wonder how I could advocate

And the peace I feel

Of drifting off to sleep

After a long, long day

Quiet at last
