LiesA Poem by Stephanie IreneWhen I met you I never knew Just how naive I could be Falling for every word Just to always Be proved It was a lie I tried so hard To make you see But all that did Was cause more pain Lie after lie I kept trying to believe But you my dear Will never change I ask and ask What does love mean Just to never have the answer You lied and lied Til I couldn't grasp What was true And what was a lie I was pushed and hurt Til nothing was left All the love was gone Leaving only the hate I wanted so badly For you to prove me wrong To show the love That was said to be Lies fall off your tongue Like venom from a serpent They spread faster Than a wildfire But now I'm gone For you to never have again Lies are evaded The truth has set me free
