The Opening

The Opening

A Poem by PJ

The Opening

Under the starlit sky we lay awake

For there was nowhere to hide

Crisp clean air all around

Cheeck to cheek face to face

my fingers upon your face tracing time to rise above all

I know we can fly

We don't even have to talk

No need now to watch the clock

Together we will be unaware of time

The great smell of pine

Filling the cool air

At a cabin by the lake I walk

In the foot prints of your memory

Your voice

Calling to me from everywhere

Where we first met

Desiring to be set free

And disappear

Into the whispering night

Wow. No wonder you are noticed on this thing. This is so beautiful and clever. Good flow.

A beautiful flow of image and emotion in taking a first step upon a journey. Your words invoked the scent of pine, which is rich in those Montana mountains and the vision of footprints by the lake, truly closed the piece powerfully. Well done!
