i once loved a girl

i once loved a girl

A Poem by shoepolish

          i once loved a girl

i once loved a girl

who would never love me

i once loved a girl

who saw differently than i see

she was beautiful and smart

clever and proud

she loved sweet things

and went with the crowd

and i just a girl

in love with a girl

could not, for the life of me

find a cure

so i waited in silence, as she walked by

i waited in silence, wanting to cry

but one day that girl

found a guy

they're happy together

so why not i?

i once loved a girl who would never love me

i once loved a girl, but we were never to be
