Preparation strategy for MPPSC Exam While Working

How to read (recommended approach for your mppsc exam learning)

1st Reading - The first time you’re reading the books, read them like a novel. Highlight the important points using a highlighter (in case of ebook) or a pencil (Hard copy). Keep a dictionary handy. If you come across any difficult word, look it up immediately. If you don’t understand a specific concept, use Google and read up about it.

How to know what to highlight:
It’s important that you know what information to highlight and what to ignore. While studying it is important to what to study and what not study, for this you can join any mppsc coaching to get a mentor or if you are doing self-study then this can be done by analysing MPPSC previous question papers. Analysing previous year’s question papers will help you understand the type of questions asked under each topic. For instance, if you’re studying about the various Government schemes and policies, you should focus on advantages & disadvantages of the policy, need for that policy and its approach.  If you’re studying about a specific industry, your focus should be on the location of the industry, the factors affecting its location, challenges faced, opportunities and its current situation.

2nd Reading - Give a gap of about 2 to 3 days after your first reading, before you begin your second reading. During your 2nd reading, ignore the unwanted details and focus on the notes you had highlighted during your 1st reading. It’s a good idea to try and recall whatever you learnt your 1st reading before revising each chapter.

3rd Reading - Not that you’re done with your second reading it’s time to summarize what you have studies. The 3rd reading should be relatively faster than the 1st and 2nd. During the 3rd reading, glance through each chapters’ Highlighted parts. Try and relate the concepts you’re studying to current affairs, and connect the dots.

1. Establish a fixed routine

On weekdays you can get around 3-4 hours to study as you spend around 9-10 hours for work. You must set up a routine and be a stickler to successfully employ only three hours to study for the exam. Having a routine helps you develop good habits. In this way, you can also finish the entire course with weekly and monthly plans.

2. Internal MPPSC Syllabus

Since the major challenge for you is time management, you need to go through the syllabus properly and see which subjects should be prioritized and studied first. You must have a strong hold on the syllabus and should be read only in which it is mentioned accurately. When you make notes for revision, make them precise and to the point.

3. Prioritize Your Topics

It is very important to understand what to study and what not to study. Since you have to streamline your preparation, you should be able to take out irrelevant people. This will be possible if you go through previous years mppsc question papers; You should be back by at least 2010.

4. Stick to Some Books

Limiting resources for your MPPSC preparation is very important. You should mention only a few good books for MPPSC preparation. It will take a lot of time to read many books and you can read unnecessary things. What is important is to understand the topics correctly and be able to write the answer well. Therefore, read only a few recommended books and avoid getting confused.

5. Choose Your Alternatives Wisely

Choosing an optional subject that works best for you is very important. It is important to choose an elective that you are familiar with, preferably a subject that you have pursued for your graduate or related to your current job. That way you don't have to start from scratch. You can save a lot of time and effort and also prepare other subjects properly.

6. Practice

It is very important to practice answer writing to get good marks in the main examination. Along with this, you should also take a mock test, because practice makes a person perfect. You should somehow make time for this in your busy schedule. Successful aspirants are those who practiced question paper and answer writing.
