ARGO

ARGO

A Poem by Moonlight
"

If anyone has seen Argo movie (2012), This is a poem written from the point of view of the CIA agent.

"

A simple gesture

Of lending hand

Of staying till the end

Of being the hope

In the darkest of times

Breathes meaning into one's life.

A thin line stands between

Truth and the probable

It is easier to let go momentarily

But it gets harder later as

The guilt drives its way back in

It drives the man’s heart crazy

It wastes a man’s energy

Shattering a dream of somebody

And not taking responsibility

Is a coward’s game

Sometimes reason doesn’t answer to demand,

And some rules are best when bent

Not all endings are happy

And not all happiness comes from ends

The gift of giving someone’s lives back to them,

Returns the gift of light in one’s life.

I take people to their homes

I give them freedom from

The parasitic fear

That claws their heart

Every time the pattern disrupts

No, I am no doctor

Just an insect with a whole lot more significance

Because it is Argo

And Argo brought my family and life together.
