From Father To SonA Poem by MoonlightA poem from the perspective of a dead father to his son...From Father To Son
I see him growing, Each day learning, Step by step. How I wish I could hold hand as he learned to walk. How I wish I could lend him my shoulder to cry on. But all I do is watch From a distance that none of us can cross… For I am no more than A source of energy, Unusable… No more than a gust of wind, I cannot touch him, Or, hold him. So helpless, so powerless... He cannot listen to me, My reasons to leave. I have watched him cry, Over that photograph of me, The only memory… Fading but still there. Maybe, I am just a figment Of his imagination. That I can only exist In his memories… For now I live among the dead…
But so long as he remembers his dad, I want him to know, That I, his father, left him Because I loved him more dearly, Than my life itself…
