Graceful Forgiveness

The power of forgiveness....

What is it?

This light absorbing me.

Shining so brightly,

Painting everything white.

My tainted self,

Darker than darkness itself.

Fathomless.

Hung on the frozen wall,

Colder than ice itself.

 

To me, that light seems

So distant.

 

Only nothingness claims the distance between us…

 

But, I am not alone here.

There are others too…

Full of malice and hatred.

Cursing everything that the world has given them…

Drowning in despair and misery.

Rage and anger

Defining their face.

 

But I am different.

There is nothing I feel.

Neither love nor hatred.

Neither disgust nor sadness.

All I see is my older self,

Living in pain…

In grief unspoken of; immeasurable.

The me with a life,

And a power to purify their tainted souls…

Absorbing every darkness they have to offer,

Losing myself in the tempest of their malice.

Allowing them to feed on

The light within me.

Tired of failing in saving them…

Tired of forgiving them

Over and over again.

 

However, now I feel nothing.

Not even from the sword of justice,

Piercing my heart.

Pinning my to this wall.

It’s like I am drifting away.

My alive form feels regret and grief.

But, all I feels is emptiness

Endless void extending within me…

Engulfing me.

 

Wait… someone is calling me.

But why? For someone like me…?

 

I see the light extending,

Crossing nothingness,

Embracing my darkness.

I feel someone with a beautiful soul,

Reaching out to this helpless me…

Hands holding mine,

Warmth filling my void…

Reminding me of the kindness I bear.

 

I feel tears in my eyes.

No, not of despair…

But of happiness.

Happiness from being accepted.

Satisfied, that someone exists.

Someone, who choose to not give up on me.

Who didn’t let go of my hand.

 

I feel the light evading my darkest corners.

It’s warmth over-writing my darkness.

I feel being saved…

 

It is beautiful.

So pure…

The feeling of not letting go of

Hope and Bonds…

Of beliefs and promises…

To accept and forgive,

Is a feeling, beyond words, graceful…

This is very like The Chaos in my Life except that it is resolved. I rather like that the savior is light, disembodied. The specific source of the saving light is not even sought. Light everywhere is regarded as good and happy, dark as evil and despair. This crossing from dark to light is uplifting. Graceful is a perfect word with which to end.
