chapter 1: eye

2 years after the incident

prince hyacinth ran for his life. he didn't know what his father had done this time but he needed to run. he wished he could have warned his sisters and brothers but there was no time. he could only warn his wife, a beautiful siamese cat named lavi, and get their son out of there. " quickly! they're coming!" hyacinth growls, ushering lavi to the exit "hyacinth, are you sure we won't get caught through here?" lavi whispered " only me and my siblings know of this exit" hyacinth whispered as they traveled through the tunnel-like structure, it's rough grey walls giving hyacinth comfort that they'll never be found. the small silence is broken by the soft mewing of the young prince crimson, the son of hyacinth and lavi, his eyes shining with young innocents, "where are we going dad?" crimson asked with a shaky voice "somewhere far from here,crim. stay quiet...um...we're playing hide and seek! we're hiding ok?" hyacinth told him, crimson nods and stayed silent. what he said was true, they were hiding from the guards, they were almost there, they could have a normal life and lie low until it was over.

but you don't always get what you wish. hyacinth froze when he opened the door and saw his older brother, an ashy colored cat named aconite, glaring at him with multiple guards next to him. aconite had a smug grin on his face, one that hyacinth feared " hello, brother." aconite waved his hand at the guards and they attacked. hyacinth dodged multiple attacks and lavi tried to do the same, which was difficult while she carried crimson. crimson was petrified and tried to stay still, but slipped out of his mother's grasp. "grab the kit!" aconite screeched "no!" hyacinth and lavi yelled, both reached for crimson with hyacinth just barely grabbing crimson by the scruff of his neck, the kit screeched from the sudden action, and they tried to run from the guards, in the middle of the chaos hyacinth looked back, hoping for his wife to be behind him.

instead he saw his wife being attacked by the guards, " RUN! GET CRIMSON OUT OF HERE" she screamed, hyacinth froze for a split second. he had a choice. save his wife but put his life in danger, or run and save his life and his son. " just run!" lavi screamed, with tears in her eyes. "run and don't look back" that was enough to motivate hyacinth to run into the woods. no one followed him as he cried, he didn't want to do this but there was no choice. he hid deep in the willow trees, and held onto his son. he cried even more when he heard one final scream from lavi, before there was pure silence. "where's mom?" crimson asked "mom....isn't with us anymore" hyacinth dully said "she isn't coming back..she's gone". the grieving cat had climbed out of the tree, his son clutched tightly. the two cats now had a whole world against them.
