So Not A Cinderella Story

So Not A Cinderella Story

A Poem by Victoria G

So Not a Cinderella Story

Once upon a yesterday in a kingdom not so far away

I met a guy as charming as the prince himself.

He gave me a shining grin that he knew would inst’ly win

My heart and soul as fast as time itself.

I was dumb I fell for it my heart was crushed as I took the hit

I thought that he would love me for who I am

So I’m broken in the streets he was the guy who can’t be beat

And he made the winning move in my own game.

Whatever happened to I’ll always love you for you

The happily ever after at the end?

I guess dreams are not fairy tales it fact they are only the veil

Between reality the nightmare world on the other side.

And so this broken hearted story has to end in tearful mourning

For the princess in this tale lost her guy.

And I have learned that fantasy can never be reality

In a world where only perfect people win.
