Deluge

Deluge

A Poem by Shifra

It was almost imperceptible from the moment it began
A tiny droplet
became a deluge
caught in the rain
bewildered
blinded inception
sprinkled credence to the prestige of my pain
brushed away my wariness to trust
shlepped up the last layers of dust
drenched with disdain
bathing in regret
but thankful it was only temporary
