Levity

Levity

A Poem by Shifra

Sometime ago I held the sun in the palm of my hand
I felt the levity of its glow
I stared so long I lost its meaning
blinded by a simultaneous contrast of colors and emotions....
Love
trust
hatred
ignorance
innocence
regret
Now the sun has set
all its intrinsic beauty seems to be fading with each days passing.
I stay awake hoping to catch a glimpse of what i captured not so long ago.
I fear that I will never see the light again.
I strain my eyes to see through the darkness
groping for stability i stumble to the earth.
above me the night sky.
Now the moon is full with worry and sorrow
I struggle to understand its mystery.
I soak up the ardent moon
I try to envelope my heart with a tiny fragment of hope
Is this to be my fate....
a battle between the sun and the moon?
must i suffer through this painful quarrel amongst the heavens
or will i fight to manifest my own destiny?
