Alone On A Hilltop

Alone On A Hilltop

A Poem by Tim M

alone on a hilltop
with secrets and lies
pretending there's glamour
that's deep down inside
but under the flesh
hides nothing but trash
another routine experiment
of chaos reaction
bred to feed the beasts of knowledge
and the beasts of curiosity
to keep them from slipping out of their cages
and running rampant among the rest of us

                    civilized types

I'm actually going to read this a few times because I feel like, every time I read through it, I catch something new. I'm digging the endings man. The way they throw off the structure of the whole thing and how they're strong stand alone lines.
