Jade

Jade is a twenty year old Caucasian Fashion Designer that comes from a poor background.

       Jade lay on her bed, a springy mattress with a flat stained pillow under her head listening to music playing from her radio. She had headphones plugged into it to drown out her parents arguing. Hours had passed since they began the screaming and cursing she had grown accustom to, it was now three a.m and she had came to the realization that she would get very little or no sleep at all. This angered her, she had enough trouble sleeping to begin with and she kept on thinking how rude and selfish it was of her parents because she and her brother had to get up in three hours to begin getting ready for school.

        After lying awake growing angrier by the minute she decided instead of keeping the headphones plugged in she would turn the volume up. She yanked the headphones out, turned the volume to full blast, grabbed a few pieces of loose leaf notebook paper, some colored pencils and began sketching clothing designs. The radio however, playing music sounding more like static than music, could not go up loud enough to completely eliminate the arguing taking place. She decided to put the headphones back in her ears. This is my life? 

        Tears began to fall from her blue green eyes, endless thoughts forming in her mind. I can't take this s**t anymore. I don't know what to do, I should just go but I can't leave him behind. Why are they like this? What did I ever do to deserve this? God what did I do to deserve this?
