I ask could we?

Inspired by Janis Joplin's song Piece of my Heart. Those lyrics have such a significant meaning to me that I felt the need to write my own piece.

Envision if you may a life of will

A world we could heal

 

Dejavu no more for you

Each word spoken so true

 

Every sky clear crystal blue

Each to walk in another's shoe

 

Where the rainbows shine

No such thing as mine

 

We all lend a hand

Across all the land

 

Like children in the sand

We all understand

 

Dreaming our dreams together

Laughing in stormy weather

 

Eyes tell no lies

Ears hear no cries

 

Vanity and Vulnerability

Cease to be

 

Pain doesn't exist

Because we resist

 

Where the fears bleed no tears

And the soul is sweet and whole

 

No child, woman, and man walks alone

There isn't such a thing as on your own

 

To judge the other

Is not loving another

 

To be free

This must be

 

I ask could we?
