If You Could Go Back

If You Could Go Back

A Poem by sherie carter

what if you could go back-

change what you've done.

rearrange the whole world.

set back the sun.

what if you could go back-

to that old place.

take back all of your lies,

drawn on your face.

what if you could go back-

would it still be

a comforting home,

just you and me?

what if you could go back-

what would you do?

make all of the mistakes,

or start brand new?

i like this. this offers you something to think about. it made me think of past relationships and what i would do if i ever chose to go back. i dont think i would change much at all though. it makes me who i am today.
