abandonment.

abandonment.

A Poem by sherie carter

in a crowd of hundreds, i walk alone-

i think of the things he said.

through all of his lies, the truth now is shown-

wish i was inside his head.

the tears spring forth from my sleep deprived eyes-

i feel like i soon may die.

his actions caused a troublesome demise-

people watch while there i cry.

a stranger stops and holds out his smooth hand-

i'm not likely to refuse.

life is short, as an hourglass of sand-

i have not got much to lose.

his warm love will replace all my cold tears-

my sadness will go away.

his kiss, it will fight off all of my fears-

i hope he is here to stay.

I love how easily I can relate to this poem. There have been so many times that while I'm in the process of getting over one love, a new one steps in to replace the rest of the pain. The way you wrote it captures the true emotion.

This reminds me of my past with a girl. I liked this poem because it was "real" and spoken from a broken heart. Your words are true and it speaks to me. Very well written.
