Beauty's take on the Beast

Beauty's take on the Beast

A Story by Sher{alynn} Veron{ica}

A simple girl, I never thought I was strong enough for the adventure of my life. Until I met the most horrifying man in existence, a man if u can call him that, it pales in comparison to the man in my life, my father. He was the gentlest of men; you would ever come to know. He wouldn’t even hurt a fly. Like all Pisces men, they cherished all those around them and made their affections known.  So, you see now where I’m coming from. Why this beastly self righteous creature, could never match my image of a real man.

I was trapped without even realising it. Sold away to a man that neither loved me nor disdained me. It was agony; I was bartered in with no choice and chance to ever plead my case.  The room I slept in was cold, like the man who held me captive against my will. The damp chill filled every space of this wretched prison I learned to accept as my life. As time passed and I roamed in solitude, with no living creature except my captor, if living is what you called him. I always thought a man would die without his heart till I met “him”.

He was cursed, he was damned, the very scum of man. He forced me to stay in this lonely abyss. Where Hades itself was company and I was Persephone.

As time passed and the person I was before withered in this darkness. When all seemed hopeless in a moment of desperate despair, I chose to look at the face of the man, who all this while I repulsed and rejected. Do I dare? Do I dare?  I braced myself for a stare.

What came next left me speechless. I was confused, then enraged, and when my rage began to peel away, I began to feel such sorrow for him, which was in contradiction with all I knew of him. Loneliness kills the human in us. It was then that I saw no monster but man.
