THIS MORNING (Poevella)

THIS MORNING (Poevella)

A Story by Kopa...
"

Poevella! This is a new form of writing i feel will appeal to quick readers, it is a short and precise blend of a Novella and poetry, although i see other elements added in dew time.

"
THIS MORNING,
I GOT OUT OF BED, MY EYES FELT HEAVY, THEY REALLY WERE.
SUN-LIGHTS FOUND THEIR WAY THROUGH THE WINDOWS, EVEN WHEN I HAD PULLED EM SHOT.
STARRING AT NOTHING, I LOOKED MUFFLED, THE ESCAPADES OF LAST NIGHT STILL LINGERED AROUND, AND AROUND I LOOKED, AROUND I SAW, THE EVIDENCE OF THE LIFE I LIVED SPREAD FOR ALL TO SEE.
MY ROOM MATE LAY ON THE OLD COUCH, STILL CUDDLING HIMSELF, BOTTLES LAY AROUND, UNDER THE TABLE, BESIDE THE TV SET, AROUND THE READING AREA, EVEN ON MY JUST ORDERED 'DIVERGENT', AND IT WASN'T EVEN A PAPER-BACK, LAYING THERE WAS A BOTTLE OF TRAMADOL, XANAX CAPSULE HOLDER, BOTTLES OF WHISKY, ENDS OF WEED, CIGARETTES BUTTS, AND THE SMELL OF WOMEN. ALL ELEMENTS OF THE NITE PASSED.
SLOWLY I DRAG MYSELF FORWARD, PEERING OUT THE WINDOW, THE MORNING CAME ALIVE,
GIRLS CALLING CABS, MEN IN CHEAP SUITS HURRYING WITH BRIEFCASES ON THEIR ARM,
SCHOOL BUS HONING AT A COMPOUND NEARBY, A FAT COUPLE CURSING AT THEIR CAR' REFUSAL TO START,
AS IT WAS TYPICAL OF THE MORNING, I IMAGINED KIDS HURRYING AT THEIR CEREAL',
GIRLS HUSTLING FOR INTERNATIONAL TICKETS, NEW YORK IS THE DESTINATION OF CHOICE,
AS I SETTLE INTO THE KITCHEN CHAIR, BOOK ON THE TABLE, PEN IN HAND,
I TAKE ONE MORE LOOK AT THE VIEW IN FRONT, MESSY AS THEY COME, DRUGGY AS THEY WENT,
I PEN THIS DOWN.
