Ghaddafi By Rebirth(For The Love Of My Race)

Ghaddafi By Rebirth(For The Love Of My Race)

A Poem by Kopa...

On that day, greatest of all African days,
Swirled happiness raped my heart,
Terror and fear gripping it acorn.
Ghadaffi by rebirth i had become.
"i want to be a rebel"  he sang, "carry the cross of
my African heritage i would do,
leading my people from the drenches of the swamps and
into the gate of white lights, white-flags and prosperity"
his words plundered.
" i want to lift the mama in the mud-den hut,
set her upon golden stools of her right: my brothers
rebuking deaths, it no more became an option as they smuggle themselves
west of the orbit, no!
My people my pride,
my culture my dance,
i sell not for silver nor gold, for all are the vanities of the earth,
my heart my voice,
i lent to the fore fathers of my heritage as this day,
Africans as they were, African i am born,
and today i lend that same voice to thee born of mother Africa,
by birth, otherwise this day by rebirth.

Author's Note

Kopa...
you should have heard of the murdered former Libyan ruler Mumar Ghaddafi, i wrote this on the third day of his death because i felt he was the most pan_African ruler of this generation, there is room for disagreement. Leave nothing out.

Wonderfully written.
