A View from John's Red Ford TruckA Poem by Shelley Warnerfrom the series "Adventures with John in his Red Ford Truck"We drive the back roads on a day in
May I look out upon fields of daisies
and fields of scotch broom I even see some lupine in shades of
vivid red and purple And the sun smiles upon them “There’s a cool truck,” John says I look and see a shiny blue classic
in the green grass We point out other parked vehicles,
some for sale And the sun beams upon them We see goats, cows, and sheep in the
fields "And there’s some
alpacas," John points out, "One of them is shaggy and
needs shearing." And the sun greets all the animals We’ve seen a lot of places on days
in May John in his travels and me in mine, But we agree there’s none as special
as the Pacific Northwest And I smile as the sun bathes us in good will © 2023 Shelley WarnerReviews
