Here's sheer rarity … a Valentine's Day poem to your handsome, obviously, happy mutt.
From his comfy looks and your bright smile, I'd say you both had a great day.
Nice play on the popular excerpt from Sir Edmund Spenser's 1650 poem "The Faery Queen".
"It was upon a Sommers shynie day,
When Titan faire his beames did display,
In a fresh fountaine, farre from all mens vew,
She bath’d her brest, the boyling heat t’allay;
She bath’d with roses red, and violets blew,
And all the sweetest flowres, that in the forest grew."

Yes, Baxter did have a nice Valentine's Day. He went for a car ride, which always makes his day. I go to check on my 92 year old mother and he goes along. Glad that Buddy had a great day too. This valentine greeting from Baxter is part of a series of "Loveable Baxter" stories. I've been posting one about every week. And the "Deer in Ryderwood" is part of a series entitled "Adventures wth John in his Red Ford Truck", which is a book I plan to self publish.
