![]() Winter on Hwy 14A Poem by Shelley WarnerWinter on Hwy 14 I
drive Hwy 14 and just past exit 10, Mt.
Hood rises in all its white radiance, against
the brilliant blue sky, to
welcome me back to Camas. The
other day it was invisible, hidden
in a cloud of haze. That day, I
noticed the bare bleakness of the winter trees, that
had displayed brilliant hues in the fall. I
noticed cardboard, plastic, and paper on the
sides of the road; and even
a long stretch of toilet paper, clinging to a bush on the side of the road. Some
days are lovely. Some
days are unlovely. I’ll
take them both. © 2022 Shelley WarnerReviews
