Hot Nights

Hot Nights

A Poem by Shelley Warner
"

for those of you who prefer gloomy weather like me

"

Hot Nights

Sleeping under a ceiling fan

Kids "sleeping" downstairs in the AC

Making noise and kitchen messes

Hot Nights

With my love beside me

Have to wait till morning

To make love, damn heat

Hot Nights

Looking forward to fall

Remind me to not complain about rain

Not that I would, I love gloomy weather.

Thank you for reading this Coyote. Right now, the high today in Camas, WA is 70. Perfect weather.

Here in middle October. 80 degrees dear Shelley. Very odd for Michigan and you are welcome.
You made me think of the early days when ac was only found in movie theaters and drug stores. Of course, this serene scene included air conditioning, but only for the kids. Now, if I was in my twenties or thirties, sex would've been just fine at night or morning, regardless of the temperature. Your looking forward to fall is shared by many, including me. The colors, harvest, mild days and brisk nights--oh, yeah.

Oh my goodness! I love gloomy weather and never talk about it because people will see me as a Sad Sack. It needs to be 50/50 for me though. I could never live in areas with lots of cold weather, snow, and rain. I live in NC. I see you live in Washington. Lots of rain there. It’s so different in places where air conditioning is not a requirement. We melt here in the summer. But, I can “see” your life as a fly on the wall. Great visuals!

October is my favorite month...and I am a winter person as well....coming from NY and living near Chicago for ten years...got used to the cold...here in Southern Illinois...too too too hot and humid.

but morning love is really quite nice.

I remember Boy Scouts...got to sleep in a sleeping bag...night breezes, comfortable and then waking up in a sweat.
visual poem, like it.

I'm sure NC is beautiful with all its trees in the fall.
There is nothing comfortable about hot nights, especially with no air conditioning. When you want to sleep or make love, then the mercury is best when not creeping up the thermometer. Heat is exhausting. Let there be cool.

Yes, let there be cool.
Sex in the heat, a bit like running a marathon in Mexico.
Winter is on the way, bonding complete.
