The Real Me

The Real Me

A Poem by shelby ferrell
"

I am so sorry my writing hasn't been the same for some time now and these cruddy stories are god awful! But I lost my muse and he is never coming back. Hope you all have a wonderful day.

"

If you knew what was placed upon my skin,

If you knew what was under my bloody sleeves,

Would you still love me?

If you saw my midnight mistakes,

If you saw my reddened skin,

Would you still love me?

If you heard my desperate pleas,

If you heard my darkened thoughts,

Would you still love me?

Would you still plant gentle kisses upon my cheek?

Would you whisper silly words into my ear?

Would you sit there and tell me all the words a woman wants to hear?

You fell in love with an indie rock, vintage lover.

You fell in love with my poetic words.

You fell in love with a part of me.

I fell in love with your goofy laugh.

I fell in love with the way you made me coffee in the early morning.

I fell in love with all of you.

Would you still stay,

If you saw the real me?
