Where I am From

Where I am From

A Poem by shelbig

Where I am from

I am from Kim and Randy Grant.

From tasty, cheesy, hot pizza and tart, sweet, white chocolate raspberry cake.

I am from crystal blue eyes and sarcasm.

From blankets scattered in the living room.

I am from parmesan panko chicken Sunday dinners.

From being bucked off a horse and fracturing my arm.

I am from getting my license and ignoring the six month rule the very first day.

From listening to “Knocking on Heavens Door” by Guns and Roses.

I am from my uncle dying unexpectedly.

From Sunny Jo inspiring me to become a hairstylist.

I am from a family that believes in God but doesn’t attend church.

From my mom saying “get your belbi jeans on.” And “its one of the many perks of being an adult.”

I am from all the fun memories my black wooden desk contains.
