Poppy Fields

Poppy Fields

A Poem by sheila.j

Days spent searching for the sun
nestled deep in the ground
weathering deep, bitter freezes
desperately reaching for the surface
suffering heat waves
shriveled in dehydration
starting again
and again
and again
and again
until one day
maybe
a field of brilliant poppies
would erupt from all the
pain.

Again, so beautiful, Sheila. Love the reference of the poppies.

Sounds like a metaphor for life. Only the persistent succeed.
