They Say...

They say that life is great

They say pictures are worth a thousand words

They say that you can paint a picture with those words

They say you can, if you have the will

They say you can’t, but that you should

They say time is expensive so spend is wisely

They say that ignorance is bliss

Yet knowledge is power

They say anything is possible

They say chase your dreams

They say wish on that shooting star

Though that star is already dead

They say you should smile more often

They say you’re perfect how you are

They say you’ll always have potential

They say everything happens for a reason

Except the unexplainable

They say life isn’t easy

They say life isn’t perfect

And they say life is great

I think the best part of this piece was the fourth-to-last line: ...except the unexplainable...these are all common pieces of advice handed down from one generation to the next, but they're rarely accompanied by any advice regarding how to go about seeing to their fruition...I like the matter-of-fact tone, it very cleverly belies the simplicity in such advice, and the lack of simple answers out there that allow for the fulfillment of that advice...nice piece Shiela, very thought-provoking :)
