Don't Watch Me FallA Poem by sheila.jI'll soar up high and crash down low Doesn't matter, never mattered, I'm on my own Been held hostage too long These chains have rusted to my skin Breaking free sears my heart But my vision never thins
I'll look up in the clouds And see the distant stars Barely holding my dreams Hardly hiding my scars
So I'm begging you don't watch me Cause I'm falling away from everything Turn your eyes and just let it be Because there's nothing to keep me safe Keep me safe from myself
I wouldn't care if the world Saw me defective, saw me crash and burn But the thought of your eyes gazing At the destructive path I'm bound to follow Torments my mind for I want to be Forever and always perfect to you
So when I look up And see you look down I know I couldn't live With you watching me drown
So I beg you don't watch me And if you can't bare to turn your eyes To just let the inevitable happen Know I don't believe anything will Keep me, keep me safe from myself © 2013 sheila.jAuthor's Note
