To Hell and Back AgainA Poem by sheila.jTo hell and back again. To the brink and over You took your fathers gun and pressed it to your head Placed your finger over the trigger and thought your last words Boom and now youre gone And here I am left in your wake of death My best friend. My best friend dead. So now I sit staring a thousand miles forward and seeing nothing but bleak barren roads I can't bring myself to smile. To really smile. Any sign of a happiness is stangled in guilt and drowned in possibilities. You should have called me that night Should have known I'd be there in a heart beat I should have noticed your pain Should have been there without you asking
To hell and back again. To the brink and over I take my fathers gun and press it to my head Place my finger over the trigger and think my last words "I'm sorry I wasn't there." Boom and now I'm gone. We drove eachother to hell just like we joked You lead the way and I followed you down Together in hell and we can't seem to come back All we see is a life missed out on and mistakes that could've been prevented You should have called me that night I should have seen your pain Should have put the guns down Should have thought this through
