Left here bleeding; wound so deep

There’s no coming back; just go to sleep

Eyes shut; let the film roll

Just a simple life; out of control

Dreams aren’t real; eyes wide open

Everyone pours, just a little hope in

Seeing it all; Disapointment’s long past

Reality hurts; lets’ hope it won’t last

Eyes shut; let the film roll

Just a simple life; out of control

Smiles are fake, when tears are real

Happy is all you’re supposed to feel

When pain is always forbidden

Hurt won’t heal if it’s never given.

Eyes shut; let the film roll

I felt like I was being swayed back and forth, being convinced with these sharp and effective words, that there was a pain that needed to be understood. You write so deep and it comes on so fast..... I like it. Makes me want to hug you, but I am intrigued with your ability to not put up any apparent walls so we can jump right in and get involved with your poem on a personal level. That first stanza really set the mood and speed of the piece, and that helped because it would have been distracting to figure out where or why you are writing this. Great job!! xoxo -Mark
