What Would It Profit

What Would It Profit

A Poem by sheila russ
"

"What would it profit to gain the whole world and lose your soul?"

"

What would it profit

For me to lose control

I wouldn't gain one thing

Only lose my soul

To be caught lost

In this all familiar state

Is a sure way to hell

And it's bound to seal my fate

So what would it profit

If I just laid down and died

Would it show my bravery

Or how I fought and tried

Life is filled with what if's

Consequences of a cause unfit

Only illusions to the conclusions

Again what would it profit

"Only illusions to the conclusions"
A great coincidental rhyme.

The Chinese commit suicide on the door steps
of the one's who have wronged them to shame
the whole family. It's considered noble.
Go figure?

I keep myself going through a sense of curiosity.

You write wonderfully!
