my soul wears a crown

my soul wears a crown

A Poem by sheerpoetry
"

this is for nish nish the fish's contest look in the mirror and tell me what you see. i never won a contest b4 so if you think im good vote ok!

"

i see a queen afraid of her kingdom

afraid to rule with the tender hand God has given her

she thinks it takes might

filled with fright

her faith has been shaken by the praising of evil deeds and spite

she has seen this too many times

it has left her a queen afraid to straighten her crown and be seen for the royalty we all are

she dumbs it down

because she feels out numbered by common folk

those who dont care

who would not shed a tear or roll an angry eye - those who dont care

she is diffrent from them

her soul wears a crown as high and as golden as the sun

bestowed upon her by the mightiest of rulers

and with all hopes she will live up to this gift

and find the courage to lift her voice and scream it is i

your queen of love and forgiveness acceptance and togetherness

follow me from the here and now and we shall all wear our crowns

but today is not that day

and as far as the here and now

i still see a queen afraid of her kingdom.

I enjoyed ready this one. It tells the story for me of the shy person who is afraid to answer a question in class because then peopl may notice her. She is fearful of what people may say to her so she doesnt speak to anyone. I must alot of people should be able to relate to thios poem because we all have a moment when we say nothing because we dont want to deal with the consiquences.

Great piece

oh wow! this is all up Sun Goddess' alley..anything dealing with a queen, crown, royalty. i dig all that. i like the way you crafted this poem, kind of like a "Nelson Mandela" approach. a queen who is too afraid to wear the crown, has been devalued, marked with a lesser rule by others who don't deserve her prescense! fear is always a bad thing. i know i have fear every day, but i try to wear that crown high on my head, look up as a queen, seeing my kingdom in the distance!

this is going in my favorites for sure. i'm also going to send you some of mypoetry that was similar.
