Native Bafflement

Native Bafflement

A Poem by Shayna
"

I baffle them, I do. Written: May 2008.

"

I baffle their one-way minds, I do.
Easy as speaking a native tongue.
All I do is
         write
           write
              write
        Pen in hand, papers turning,
                 Mind spinning.
They don't understand how anyone can
Find any sort of pleasure in
             a cramped hand
                    and an
             aching angry mind.
It is for them that I say this"
Poetry is pleasure. Simple as that.
It is the adventure of reading an open mind, feeling unfelt, raw emotion.
Letting it all become exposed, ready for
Love, criticizm,
        connecting
One mind to the next.
    But I guess that
    It's a writer's thing.
You have to think to understand.

I loved it, it's as simple as that. I find that every word you have said is true, at least to me that is. I find that when people ask me why I write the things that I do, I know I can't give them an answer that they would understand. The poetry that I write is for my pleasure and no one elses.
This was a great write, and I can't wait to read more of your writing. I like the formatting of this piece too, it fit very well.
Oh and just a heads up, its not a big deal but in the 9th line I think you meant 'they' instead of 'the'.

About
Ever since I was a kid, I loved two things: reading and writing. I read as much as I could and wrote stories that generally weren't good. As I got older, though, I got better and soon learned to write.. more..
