Silent Scarlet TearsA Poem by Shayla SayerSilent Scarlet Tears Tiny red mouths gape Hungry, they crave my caress They want more, more But there’s only so much I can give them Before I can only give myself. Even then, even then… It isn’t enough And they cry out for more Soundless mouths opening and closing Their words make no noise But their screams resound in my skull And I ache to please them, I do I want to give my little children All that they want For that is why I made them, is it not? A bloody chorus Filled with bloody mouths That clamor for attention From their creator. They cry Leaking silent scarlet tears So I try to comfort them Give them blankets of unstained white linen But their tears soak through Leaking out, to show me That mere solace is not enough They need more than comforting words. So I raise my blade And give them more friends Siblings, friends, lovers And once again they are happy They smile, their toothless bloody grins, And while I know, they are happy now… I also know It’s only a matter of time Before their chant is heard again A lethal chorus Leaking silent scarlet tears.
