SamhainA Poem by Shayla Sayera wiccan poem centered on SamhainSamhain
The trees are quiet"waiting The air is cold and clear. Without the moon to guide us It’s the darkest night of the year. Ripples break the surface Of dark waters frosted over And leaves blanket the frozen earth A comfort to shoots of green. A sharp crack shatters the silence A noise akin to screams" Prey tracks Death’s Shadow Everything is expectant For anything could happen Tonight is the night When the veils grow thin Transparent"and then finally inexistent Until" Reborn like a phoenix Amidst the flowers’ cheering A ghastly newborn maw Screams with a child’s hunger Calls to eternity To forsake its weaker brethren And allow this hunger to be satiated By the blood of the tainted And all that could be. Rising from a mist A haze of powdered bone and ash A phantasmagoric collection of sorts That turns the mind like spoiled milk Rotten and revolting Disgusting and so very sad Thrown away and forgotten Eclipsed by the current “now”. Real… But not As the veil reforms For dawn has finally arrived And the nightmares of moments before Twas only a dream! … That haunts and dominates happy thoughts As the forest settles into its morning routine Birds singing and flowers sighing Just one more year to go.
