Lonely GirlA Poem by ShawnaOh lonely girl, sitting quietly by the sea. You dip your toes in the warm foam, dust the sand off your knees. Your soul is full of agony, your heart drenched in sorrow. But the warm, salty water gives you it's spirit to borrow.
The sun is just over the horizon, a ball of burning gold. The waves crash softly now, their colors very bold. You dig your toes into the sand, a feeling like no other. You let your tears blow into the wind, no longer wanting to suffer.
You lay down now, in the damp bed of sand and the shallow sea. The waves wash over your thankful body, like a blanket full of need. It comforts you as it hugs every ounce of your sultry flesh. You gaze into the sky, searching for a star that will grant your only wish.
Come now liquid happiness, wash this saddness away. Give this lonely girl your hope, to fight for another day. She never asks for much, and hides her every emotion. But now she swims away, into this heaven they call the ocean. © 2013 ShawnaReviews
