![]() Desperate, A FairytaleA Poem by ShawnaOnce upon a time, in a far away, magical land, Was a pretty little princess with hair the color of sand. Her eyes were blue and she had a button nose. Her nails were painted dainty pink and they matched her toes. She was waiting for her prince in a tower so tall. She had heard of love and she wanted desperately to fall. Then one day she peeked out her window, And low and behold there was a handsome fellow. He was riding so high on his white, beautiful horse. She had hoped he was for her and would rescue her, of course. "My fair lady, will you speak with me?" he shouted. The princess checked her lipstick, bright red and pouted. She tossed her long blond hair and said, "Why, yes!" She hopped on the window ledge and fluffed out her dress. "I came here with one question, I hope you can answer." This was it she thought, it was marriage he would ask her. She yelled with delight,"Go ahead young prince, ask what you may!" "Well I'm lost and I was hoping you could help me on my way." "That's it you say? You're lost?" she cried out to him. The audacity he had, stopping here on a whim. It was marriage she wanted and she thought this was it. She jumped up on her feet and threw a little fit. All she wanted was love and a little bit of affection. But the one time a man stopped, it was ironically for directions. © 2012 ShawnaReviews
