Saloon DanceA Poem by ShawnaA diddly doo, I'm searching for you in this unwinding maze.
A diddly dee, you found me, captured by your gaze. A little over here, a little over there, my heart has reached for you. I'm a little left of what is right, I bid thee, how do you do? Yes, left, two left feet actually is what I mean. I reach to grab your sleeve as it unravels at the seam. You turn to stare and ask "How dare?" when you grab your fabric. I tell you that it wasn't me and really I'm quite ecstatic. She keeps on dancing on this creaky old wooden floor, Clogging and diddling around like there wasn't anything more. She doesn't care about the unraveling of her dress and her naked skin exposed, Then she grabbed my hand and wanted to dance with me I suppose. I gave in to her request, but dance with her is what I came to do, She was a wild one, running and jumping, even stomping on my shoe. Her smile lifted me up and soon I was dancing above the crowded saloon, there she was dancing there as illuminating as the moon. When our dance was done, she dragged me by the collar into the back, "That was the most fun I've ever had, you picking up my slack." I smiled and nodded, as she simply kissed me on the nose. "Go home now you silly boy, before there's nothing left of your toes." © 2012 ShawnaReviews
