"Courtney, the talent show auditions are this Friday. You should sing!" Shawn said. Him and Courtney were at Courtney's locker. It was Monday.
"I don't know. I'm not that great of a--"
"Of course you are. Trust me."
"But I still get--"
"You'll be fine. I'll be there."
"I guess I will. I just don't know to sing."
"I'm sure it'll just come to you." Shawn smiled at her.
~~~~~~~~~~
"Ugh! Why can't I find a good song!" Courtney smacked her fist down on her computer desk. A picture frame fell off. Courtney picked it up. It was of her and Shawn at her 7th birthday party. Where they first met. Courtney laughed to herself.
"My life would sure suck without you, Shawn." She smiled. Then it hit her. "My life would suck without you by Kelly Clarkson! I got it!"
~~~~~~~~~~
"Shawn, I got a song!" Courtney said at school the next day.
"Cool. Which one?"
"I don't wanna say."
"Okay, then I'll hear it at the audition"
"No! Don't come to the audition."
"Gee, then am I allowed to go at all?"
"Yeah. I just want it to be a surprise."
"Okay."
"Yeah, so I have to practice all week so I won't be able to hang out with you at all."
"Then what am I supposed to do?"
"Hello. You've got yourself a girlfriend, Shawn. Remember Mia?"
"Oh yeah. Okay, well...then...good luck." Shawn said.
"Thanks!" Courtney replied then she walked away.

Shawn's cell phone rang on Saturday morning waking him up. He smiled to himself when he saw that it was Courtney.
"Must you call so early in the morning?"
"Sorry, Shawn. But this is a must! I got into the talent show!"
"Good for you, Court. So now can we hang out this week?"
"Is that all you care about? Besides what about Mia?"
"We got into fight."
"Ooh. You're first fight. What happened?"
"I-I...I...I..uh..."
"Shawn, just tell me."
"I," Shawn sighed, "I called her Courtney."
"You called her Courtney?!"
"Yeah."
"How'd you manage to do that, Shawn?"
"I don't even know. But all I know is that she's really mad at me."
"I'm sorry, Shawn."
"No, it's my fault. Man, I really like her. I gotta fix this before it gets worse."
"You do that, Shawn. She really likes you too. I hope things get better. Well, I gotta practice some. See ya later...maybe."
"Hopefully. Bye." Shawn hung up.
~~~~~~~~~~
"And now we have Courtney Cromwell for our next performance!"
The audience clapped and cheered. Especially Shawn.
"Thank you!" Courtney said once she got up the microphone. "This song. Is dedicated to someone very special to me!" Courtney looked over at Shawn sitting in the front row. She winked at him. He smiled. "My life would suck without you."
The audience cheered and the music started playing.
~~~~~~~~~~
Shawn rushed backstage to Courtney.
"Courtney! I can't believe you won!" He said.
"Well I couldn't have done it if you weren't there." Courtney said. Shawn hugged her and she hugged back. Mia cleared her throat the they pulled apart.
"Good job, Courtney. You have beautiful voice." She said.
"Thanks, Mia." Courtney said. She then looked over at Shawn who nodded his head slightly meaning that he apologized to Mia.

"So that song was about me?" Shawn asked as him and Courtney were walking home later that night.
"Uh-huh." Courtney replied.
"So what made you think of that song?"
"It just kinda, came to me." Courtney said with a smile.
Shawn smiled at her, "Man, I called that one didn't I?"
Courtney laughed and put her arm around Shawn's shoulders.
