Friends Shouldn't Use Friends

Story #4: Courtney and Amy get into a huge fight after Courtney learns a secret of Amy's. They can't settle it by themselves but two words from Shawn can bring an end to the fight.

"What about Courtney?" Megan asked.

Courtney was walking in the halls during classes when she heard this. She immediately stopped when she heard her name.

"Her? Oh, I'm only pretending to be her friend to get to Shawn." Courtney couldn't believe what she heard. And what made it worse was who it was coming from. Amy.

"Really?" Lauren asked.

"Yeah. I mean, come on, who wouldn't? Shawn Adams is the cutest guy in this school. With that hair and that smile! God! I bet every girl in this school would love to be in Courtney's place." Amy said.

"True. But don't you think that's a little mean? I mean, your just using Courtney to get what you want." Megan stated.

"So. I always get what I want. Don't I?" Megan and Lauren both nodded. "Then why should Shawn Adams be an exception to this? Just because it's Courtney's Shawnie? Heh. I don't think so. I want him and I will get him. One way or another. Now. Let's get back to class." Amy started walking. She turned the corner where Courtney was standing.

"C-Courtney!" She said.

"So you're just using me. We're not really friends?"

"No. We're friends."

"But I heard what you said. You like Shawn so you are just using me to get to him."

"Oh, Courtney. You make it sound so shocking that I like him. I like him just as much as the next girl does."

"But that next girl isn't using me."

"Well, whatever, Courtney. Just watch out. This game has just gotten more intense with another player."

"What game? Shawn? No thanks."

"Fine. But if I were you, I'd grab him while you still can." Amy said then her, Lauren, and Megan walked away.

"I can't believe you would do this, Amy!" Courtney yelled.

"Believe it, Courtney." Amy said as she continued to walk away.

"Hey, Court? What's today's date?" Shawn asked as they were doing their homework in the library during free period. Courtney didn't answer him.

"Courtney?" He asked.

"Huh?" Courtney zoned back in.

"What's today's date?"

"Oh. October fourteenth."

"Thanks."

"Yeah."

"Hey, you okay?" Shawn asked.

"Eh. Not really."

"What happened."

"Amy and I got into a fight."

"Oh yeah. I heard about that. What happened?"

"She said that she's not really my friend. She was just using me."

"For what?"

Courtney looked at him and sighed. "To get to you."

"What?!"

"Yep. It was a trick to get you."

"Oh. I'm sorry, Courtney."

"No. It's okay. She'll get over it by tomorrow."

"Yeah. But wow. Me?!"

"Yeah. But...you don't like her do you?"

"Nah. She's not my type. She's too...girly."

"Good."

For the whole week Amy was being mean to Courtney. She was threatening her, teasing her, and she even tried to black mail her. Finally, Courtney couldn't take it anymore. She decided to talk to Amy.

"Amy! What is wrong with you?"

"Me? What's wrong with you?"

"I'm perfectly fine. It's you. Why can't you just leave me alone. I didn't do anything to you."

"Actually, you did."

"What?"

"You met Shawn and became his best friend."

"But I met him by accident!"

"How do you do that?"

"My mom made me invite him to my seventh birthday party. That's when we first talked and became friends."

"I really don't care about that but all I know is that you better watch out."

"But Amy! Just let this go. Shawn doesn't like you."

"How would you know?"

"He told me."

"Yeah right. You're just lying to get me to leave you alone."

"No, Amy. I'm not."

"I don't believe you. You're just trying to get the easy way out."

"She's not, actually. She's telling you the truth, Amy." Shawn said as he walked up to the two girls.

"Sh-Shawn! Hey!" Amy said.

"No time for that. Just leave Courtney alone. You've tortured her enough."

"Because she's lying to me, Shawn. She's saying you don't like me."

"I don't." Shawn said looking straight into her eyes.

Amy was shocked. She could've sworn that Shawn liked her back.

"Y-You don't?" Amy asked. Shawn shook his head no.

"See." Courtney said.

"Oh shut up!" Amy said as she pushed back on Courtney's shoulders.

"Don't touch her!" Shawn said standing right in between Amy and Courtney.

Amy stepped back. "Well, I guess I know where we stand, huh?"

"You were so sweet as a friend. What happened?"

"Shawn happened."

"I told you, I don't like you." Shawn said.

"Whatever. I'm out." Amy turned around. She took one small step then she quickly turned around, grabbed Shawn's shoulders, pulled him towards her and kissed him.

 

Courtney stood there in shock. A few seconds passed by when Shawn realized what was happening. He pushed Amy off of him.

 

"Why'd you do that?!" He asked.

 

"Because I always get what I want." Amy answered. She smiled to herself, turned around and skipped down the hallway as she yelled, "I kissed Shawn Adams!" She laughed.

 

"Still nothing?" Courtney asked.

 

Shawn looked at her and said, "Nothing."

Author's Note

Okay, so at the end when Amy skipped down the halls and said, "I kissed Shawn Adams!" it was supposed to sound like, if you ever saw this movie, the part in 5th Harry Potter after Bellatrix kills Sirius she runs down through a room yelling "I killed Sirius Black!". I love that part so I thought I'd use something like it.

I loved the ending! I think that Courtney and Shawn should get together! It wuld be so cute, but hat do I know Im not the author! Very cute story! Amazing work!
