Love compromiseA Poem by iceteakik
I gave him a smile, simple and sweet.
He gave me a glare, one not far off from hate. I gave to him my understanding when no one else did. He did not accept pity. I gave him my warmest embraces to ward off the cold. He pushed me away, he'd rather go cold. I gave him my promise to always care. He laughed and said his long ago affections were only a dare. The feelings we once felt had to be true. I tried again but this time i brought a real gift, A rose in full bloom. He threw it it the trash after second bell. My heart was never more persistent from his rejection. I gave him a chaste kiss, he tasted of weed and beer. Never had I been struck so hard. I proceeded on to give him my first "I love you", with him I instantly regretted it. I had nothing left to lose, I said my heart only belonged to him. Suddenly he smiled a sort of killer smile and held me close. "Finally", I thought. He was mine forever. He pulled back a bite to whisper in my ear, "let's compromise". Before I could ask what he meant I felt pain in my chest, pain that protruded red. A dagger pierced through my heart. His dagger and it, he took, my love organ. To this day even after my murder I wait for him to pass. I watch him share love with others, the love he couldn't give to me. But that's okay because he'll give me his immortal time and love. See our compromise was to love in hell, forever.
