The Guilty Plea

The Guilty Plea

A Poem by Shawn Nagar

I plead Guilty,
To the harm I brought,
To the one I loved,
And forever sought.
I plead Guilty,
To the the way I behaved,
With the one I loved,
And for whom I raved.
I plead Guilty,
To the things I said,
To the one I loved,
and the lies I fed.
I plead Guilty,
To the stuff I did,
To the one I loved,
And the Truth I hid.
I plead Guilty,
To the one I lost,
The one I loved,
And the love I tossed.

I plead Guilty,
To the mess That is me,
To the One I Loved,
And yet, Failed to see.
I plead Guilty,
To my Ailing Heart,
To the one I loved,
Who had to part.
I plead Guilty,
To the Things I Did,
And The words I said,
but above all,
To my heart heart which beats for the dead.
I plead Guilty....
