The Fabric of LifeA Poem by ShaunMosleyScreaming from the inside, Shouting vehemently to the masses Refusing to succumb to the vile indifference Of venomous souls spiraling aimlessly towards oblivion Intertwined with my own, What Good am I amidst these foes, These enemies of compassion That seek to destroy for the sake of destruction Stabbing, ripping, and tearing, At the fabric that was sewn into life itself. I strain to catch the leftover pieces, Of the blanket that once formed humanity Watching it crumbling and falling through my fingers, Like sand exchanged from one hand to the other Desperately clinging to whatever remains of love. © 2016 ShaunMosley |
