A morning's reflectionA Poem by ShaunMosleyI usually awaken first, while the room is still dark and the audacious sun's light hasn't yet disturbed our peaceful nest. And though she is unaware, I bask in the tranquility of the moment and softly look at her; gently breathe her in, because her sweet orchid scent fills the blankets and pillows and surround me as though im walking in a field of wild flowers. And I wonder, how lucky am I, to have found this perfect angel, and to be loved such as she As much on the inside as on the outside. Has there ever in the history of the world been someone such as she Everyone knows she's beautiful, but they never get the chance to see her as I do for even in the darkness of the early morning, the soft glow that envelops her, is but a fraction of the light that emanates from her goodness and her words sound like music, that old favorite song that soothes whatever wounds the world delivers It is in these moments that I gather the strength to face the day And to fight against the madness that the world readily brings Armed with the knowledge that while on this planet, In this brief and bitter existence I am blessed, truly blessed to share it with her.
