Eyes Skyward

Eyes Skyward

A Poem by writerofshadows

Solitary agianst the horizon
A backdrop of hills and stars
And one sole eye
The moon staring down
Another pair
Pointed high
To the velvet black
Sprinkled with diamonds
Watching stars fall
In countless showers
Skipping across the darkness
All the while
Two eyes
Tracking every movement
Every star
Spinning
Across the midnight hour
They stare in wonderment
Those two eyes
Twinkling crystal pools
Thoughts spinning
Through their cool depths
About the feeling
Of skipping through space
Among all those diamonds
Surrounded by emptiness
Never alone
For eternity
