Autumn Twilight

Autumn Twilight

A Poem by writerofshadows

Glistening autumn leaves
Like stars among twilight
The sun low and tired
Slumped from the weight of a hard days work
The golden hills waiting
Waiting to catch it at the horizon
Long twisted shadows
Clawing at the Earth
And two eyes
Staring at me with the hope of tomorrow
Within, a rested sun glows bright
A beacon in the fading light
And in these eyes' warmth
The encroaching dark, stillness is forgotten
