THE FATHER

A Story by Shashwat Samdekar

THE FATHER

And he left the house slamming the door on his parents face. He didn't knew what to do next. The parents and the child could not figure out what made this happen and how to tackle this very situation. the demand for the son seemed to be simple.

He needed a bike for setting his own standards or "THE SWAG" in his friend circles and the people among locality. This is the common expectation from all teen boys during college days from their parents. Now the same locality members and his close friends saw the drama in their neighborhood. The parents were feeling distraught but they did not show it in front of their child, pretending to be strict towards him but who knew that they were crying deeply inside.

All they hoped that he would return and it was right. He returned but not willing for the bike but for working hard and earn money of hi very own hard work. Everyone surprised. The boy who slammed the door on his parents was in their feet. Every well-wisher of him asked as to what happened to him in his overnight stay away his home.He just remained quiet.

What could have he told?  While leaving his house he looked at his father's torn socks which he still use to wear while going to office. On his way he saw the condition of his father's home. It was weathered off. Outside his locality he got to know that his father was even going to sell the jewelry to buy his new bike.

On listening to this he started crying. He straight away came home but stayed outside his home as his feeling of guilty was  not allowing to go inside. The next morning he gathered some courage and came inside and he found his parents in the same condition,he left ,still crying.

He thought and told his so-called well-wishers that he came know his parents sacrifice for his joy and pleasures

Beside the clear grammatical errors in this piece, the heart of the story shines through. What parent isn't ready and willing to sacrifice anything for the happiness of their child? A touching tale sir, thanks for sharing.
